When I say Gustav is going to miss us, that is.
Then the weather gurus talk about a hurricane hitting somewhere, they are speaking of where the eye passes. So technically, this storm will miss us. But as you can see from the satellite image, the storm is much bigger than just the eye.
If we back this up a bit, you can see that the storm, in it's entirety, is about as big as Texas.
The orange glob to the lower right of the image is tropical storm Hanna. She is not expected to follow in Gustav's path, but rather peel off and strike the East Coast.
I'll keep ya updated. In the meantime, this is what Gustav looks like from here:

I was up ALL night (bedtime: 0630 this morning) watching the drama unfold down N'Awlins way. And it still ain't over. At least the peeples down that way had the great good sense to get outta Dodge this time. A near-death experience tends to impress one, I suppose.
Y'all are gonna get a LOT of rain in your neck o' the woods, aren't ya?
Stay safe. We keep getting rain from the outer bands of Gustav, and considering we just had Fay visiting, we DON'T need more rain. Wonder where Hanna plans on going, and lets not forget abt Ivan either! Lots of company this year~!
Buck, surprisingly, we didn't get a single drop of rain. Just cloud cover and wind.
Lynn, Thanks for stopping by the blog. You stay safe, too and watch out for Hanna.
