Actually, yes. We have theories but can't prove anything.
What happened was, his owners (The McPhails) went out to eat one night and let Warrior out of the house. He wandered over to the paper mill, where the plant manager told one of the employees there that he had to get the dog off mill property. The guy called someone he knew to come and get the dog. Later, after the McPhails had posted lost dog adds, the guy got in touch with them and told them that Warrior had pulled the leash out of his hands one day while he was walking him and ran off.
Mrs. McPhail was wandering the woods behind that guy's house looking for Warrior and she found some hair. She called her husband, afraid of what she would find. When he got there, he went on back into the woods and found Warrior's carcass. Mr McPhail said it looked like he'd been shot, then dragged back there. They can't prove anything, but they are sure the guy who picked him up from the paper mill did it.
My cousins blame themselves. They say that if only they'd been home that night, he'd have come down and hung out here. One of the employees from the paper mill blames himself as well. He knows the McPhails, but didn't know the dog was theirs. My other neighbor, Cindy, wants to shoot the guy who shot him. Me, I'd like to torture him first, then shoot him.
We are all brokenhearted because he was such a sweet dog, and he had such a majestic air about him.

I'm sorry. That sucks.
I'm so sorry, Becky. Any idea who did it?
