Conversations With Cody

"Mama, I'm going to have to start shaving soon."

"What are you going to shave?"

"My mustache."

"You don't have a mustache!"

"Yes I do."

"Where?"

"On my lip."

"I don't see a mustache."

"Well, it's there."

"Bring your lip over here so I can see.........Well, dog gone. It is there."

"Soon you're going to hear me hollering in the bathroom in the mornings and I'll have to go to school with paper towel on my lip."

I guess I'll have to add shaving cream and razors to my shopping list. Sigh, where does the time go?

Maybe for Xmas, you can invest in one of those electric shavers. Less chance of cutting himself and bleeding everywhere, and he'll still be able to get the job done. My husband doesn't have much facial hair at all, and he uses one, and it seems to do a sufficient job. It'd be worth the investment, and at the same time, he'd get what he wants too! ;-) They even make rechargeable one too! (Hubby has one of those! So do I for emergencies! LOL)

Awww, no more baby, huh Becky? First shaving, then driving, then college, then before you know it you'll be a MIL and grandmother...okay I'll slow down now... ;-)

And a styptic pencil, too. MUCH better than toilet paper or paper towels...

Dunno about the 'lectric razor thing. I've owned several in my life and still have one but never use it. They just don't do the job as well as a blade. And do not, repeat: DO NOT, buy those cheap disposables under any circumstances. They'll wound you when you least expect it and don't last very long.

Buy a Gillette Mach 3. The Fusion is more expensive and gets heavier advertising but doesn't do the job any better than a Mach 3. I own both and reverted to the tried and true Mach 3 after a few months with the Fusion. Replacement blades for the Mach 3 are about 75% of the cost of the Fusion's and are good for about four or five shaves (on me...with an average to moderately heavy beard). They should last Cody a week or longer when he starts.

My $0.02.

Windsornot, I thought about an electric shaver, but most men I've talked to don't like them. They say they don't shave well enough. I'll talk to Cody about it though. We've got a few more weeks before we get to the point where he'll have to shave, so we can think about it and make a decision then.

Patti, don't remind me!

Buck, thanks for the advice. Not having a man around means I'm prettu clueless about such things. I appreciate your input.

That should read "pretty clueless". I was sure I corrected that.
