This is why judged events are so infuriating. She seems to be handling it like a star, though, which I think is worth a thousand medals. Go, Alicia -- we're proud of you!!
I'm with you on that one... that was complete crap. stupid judges... lets look at the obvious!! Same thing on the uneven bars... the gold medal winner had way more obvious(even to me, who is no gymnast) then our wonderful Nastia... and Nastia took 2nd... boo hiss on judging.
Speaking as someone with some (though not extensive) education on the subject - I thoroughly agree. The Chinese girl had at least four major flaws in her vault (incomplete twist to the table, uneven hands on the table, poor block and subsequent under-rotation) that all led to landing on her knees, and that should have been counted as separate deductions. There's no way she earned the score she got.
Sus, maybe it's just me, but I seem to be noticing a heavy Anti- American bias in judged events. I've noticed it in diving events as well.
Katie O--the judging at these games is really frustrating! See what I said to Sus.
Cindy, I, too wondered why her execution score was so high. I don't have any education, other than watching on TV, but I could tell the vault was sloppy and poorly done.
LOL! Buck, I don't doubt that they will. I've already read a bunch of "Oh you whiny Americans!" comments. I guarantee that if the judging were so skewed in favor of us, the story would be way different--as in CONSPIRACY and AMERICA CHEATS!

Amen! I thought she was robbed too. That was really a travesty.
You're assessment seems reasonable, but who am I?
I agree 100%

Dani, travesty indeed!
Amy and Carol, agreed.
