Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?--Patrick Henry
Today, the American people willingly sold themselves back into slavery, and for what? For the hope that we might sit panting like dogs under the government's table and gratefully lick up whatever pitiful crumbs they might toss us.
Oh, how we have fallen from what our forefathers fought and died for.
We ought to be ashamed.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!--Samuel Adams
