Chats On The Farmhouse Porch

Last night, I dreamed I was young again, and over at my Mammaw's house.  She had a nice, big front porch with a glider swing on it.  I used to love to sit on that swing.  Every so often, Pappaw would sit out there with me and tell me stories about when he was young.

It's kind of appropriate that I wake up and it's our day to chat on the porch.  Please, won't you join me?

Questions:

1.Have you ever gotten a pet from a rescue?

If you count the local pound as a rescue, yes.  Both Rylea and Jesse came from the pound.   You can read Jesse's story here, and Rylea's story here.

2.  What pumpkin goodies have you had this fall?

Nothing, really, unless you count the pumpkin spice Coffemate creamer I put into my coffee.

3.  What are the best and worst rooms in your home?

I'm not sure I have a best room.  I guess it would be the living room.  It's the one I spend most of my waking --well, at home-- hours in.  Worst room would have to be Cody's old bedroom.  Since he left, it's become a storage room of sorts.  I keep saying I'm going to clean it out again, and I am.  One day.  Honest and for true.

4.  If you could have a real "brick and mortar" type business, what would it be?

I wouldn't.  Too much headache running a store.  Too many government regulations getting in the way of free enterprise, and too many idiot customers asking stupid questions and making unreasonable demands.  Not my cuppa tea.  I guess, though, if we were just fantasizing, I'd own a combination yarn, gun, geeky/nerdy stuff, and tea shop. Complete with tea room and shooting range.

5.  What's your favorite tropical fruit?

Bananas.  Hands down, bananas.  I also like pineapple and papaya.  I don't like mango at all.

Thank you for chatting with me, and for indulging my little trip down memory lane.  One day, I'm going to write a post all about my Mammaw's house.

What a great laugh to start my day with- a tea room and shooting range! Love it! Pass the cream and the ear protection, please.

I think that it is sweet that you're having dreams about your grandparents. I've been having lots of dreams about loved ones from the past lately myself. My daddy is featuring in a lot of them these days.

Have a great week!
