A Sad Weekend

It was a sad weekend for football fans in the FMF household. First off, LSU gets absolutely trounced by Florida Saturday in The Swamp. Truth is, I kind of expected them to lose--what with their quarterback situation and all, but I had hoped they would make a bit more of a game of it than that.

Then this afternoon, in a hard fought battle in Glendale, AZ, the Cowboys lost to the Cardinals in overtime. I guess the fans got what they wanted. Tony Romo broke an 8 game streak by not throwing an interception. Of course, he didn't win the game either. Sometimes you get what you ask for.

Me? I miss the old Tony. The one who took risks. The one who made plays. The one who took joy in the game. The one who was so much fun to watch that you almost didn't care if they won or not. Almost.

Can I have that Tony back, please?

But you know, this just goes to show how tough the NFC East is. The Cardinals are 4-2 and have a commanding lead in the NFC West. The Cowboys are 4-2 in the NFC East, and are in third place. At least the Redskins lost, too, to the Rams Dude.

On the bright side, DeMarcus Ware kept his streak alive. It was his 9th game in a row with a sack. Harvey Martin holds the all time unofficial club record with 11 games in a row with a sack.

On another bright note, I saw my old pal Early Doucet make a catch for the Cardinals. He was the #1 receiver for LSU last year.

On the brightest note of the day, Cody's band won first place in their division at the band contest yesterday, and won the grand champion trophy for the entire competition. This was the United States Scholastic Band Association competition in Alpharetta, Ga.

And finally, I leave you with photos of the blocked Garden Party.

That's all.

Isn't that enough?

UGH!!! I think we need to kidnap "the blonde"~~maybe then we'll get our old Tony back.

But what would we do with her once we had her? I don't want her.

It's all moot now anyway.

Congrats to Cody on his band win. I have done those before and they are stressful.

The shawl is beautiful.

Thanks. Lou. It was a busy weekend for him. He is exhausted.

Thanks again.

I miss the old Tony too. *sigh*

Don't you just love the blocking magic? Garden Party has really blossomed into something even more beautiful. :)

Opal, definitely.

Blocking magic? Not just on shawls but on offensive lines, too! Tony's biggest problem is that he's not getting time in the pocket to do what he needs to do. Hurry back Kyle Kosier!
