Red River Rivalry

When I was growing up, we didn't really watch that much college football. Oh, we watched the bowl games and such, but during the regular season...no.

There was one game, though, that we never missed.

That one game was the Texas-Oklahoma matchup. With my mother being from Oklahoma, you can bet there was some rivalry within our family. Even without the personal connection, this was one of the biggest rivalries within college football.

Nothing has changed. This is still one of the biggest rivalries in college football. Maybe even more potent this year, with Oklahoma ranked #1 and Texas ranked #5. Perhaps more important, with both quarterbacks being spoken of in the same sentence with the word "Heisman."

This year it would be Texas that came away with the victory, a 45-35 defeat of top ranked Oklahoma. And with the #2 Crimson Tide on their bye week, #3 Missouri falling to Oklahoma State, and #4 LSU upset by #11 Florida, Texas could be looking at a #1 ranking tomorrow afternoon.
