Lots of people in the United States want a national health care system. They think this will open up a magical land where their every medical whim will instantly be met, and the best part is, it will be absolutely free! Yes free! They think they will be able to wake up, decide to go to the doctor, walk into the office and be seen immediately, and receive high quality health care. For free!
They don't understand what it will really be like. Canada has a national health care system, and it works, doesn't it? Uh, no. You need to watch this video. Every person in America needs to see this video. It is long, but hang in there. Pay special attention to how high the tax rates are in Canada. Pay special attention to the part where they have to be on the waiting list 2-3 years to be assigned a family doctor. Pay special attention to the lady who's mom lost both her legs because she had to wait so long for a procedure to correct her circulation.
We do NOT want this in America!
I know it's long, but it's a must see. Watch it until the end, then post it everywhere you can. E-mail it to everyone you know. Call or write your congressman and senators. Do what ever it takes to keep the government out of our medical system.
