Me: Because you won't take care of her. You won't feed her. You won't even get up to let her in the house.
Cody: Well, technically, she's your dog anyway because I'm not old enough to legally own anything.

Jesse wante the new puppy to be her dog, but it already migrates to me first, because I am the one who takes care of it.
Becky, if that's his attitude, then I say that he's not old enough to legally own a car either! But that's just me...YMMV

My daughter turns ten next month and wants a dog. It is all she can talk about. She is great with animals and has two cats and two tanks of fish. She believed that Santa was going to bring her a dog last Christmas. He did not. I am worried that after the novelty wears off the dog will be "mine".
I am not ready for a dog.
