Click The Tongs!

As is happens, I didn't really do much at all today.  The reason for that is I seemed to have picked up some sort of intestinal bug which kept me dashing to the bathroom all night last night, and even when I was laying in the bed, I had bad abdominal cramps.  Not sure what it was, but I'm over it now.  I feel so much better, but still decided to take it a bit easy because of it.

I did get out and clean a bit on this back corner of my yard.

I thought I was getting out before it got too hot, but not so.  After only about 30 minutes, I was drenched in sweat.  I came back inside to cool off a bit and checked the weather.  Even though the heat dome has moved off, it's still in the 90s out there and when I looked this morning, the heat index was 96°.  No wonder.  Once I'd stopped sweating, I went back out and finished up, and that's about as good as it's going to get for now.

It should be cleaned up enough for the surveyor to get out and do what he needs to do, but I'm not too sure if the Fence Guys can pull the old fence up with those stumps and stuff growing through it.  I'll have to get them out here to look at it.

The only other thing of note is this hat that I finished while watching National Treasure.

I had enough yarn left to knit one more headband, which is what I'm working on now-- only I'm watching Digging For The Truth.

I also watched Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, which I haven't seen in ages.  I'd bought it on DVD several years ago without realizing it was the extended edition, so that was pretty cool.  The only thing I don't get -- other than Kevin Costner's horrible accent-- was why they showed they Bayeux tapestry during the opening credits.  This story took place during the reign of Richard Lionheart, which was like 130 years after the Battle of Hastings.

Being a history geek takes the fun out of ...well, movies.  Especially the ones that aren't historically accurate.

And finally, because I know a lot of you will be grilling tomorrow, please heed this advice:

Make sure you click those tongs, people!
