OK, not really, but we've already gotten 2" of rain, and are expecting more. I hate that some people are getting flooded, but we desperately needed the rain. We are still under drought conditions after all. It was raining so hard this morning, the cat wouldn't even go outside. I opened the door for her, and she looked at me like I'd lost my mind.
Speaking of rain, something has messed up the buzzer at work. Not sure what that has to do with the rain, but I needed a good segue. Except maybe the rain messed up the buzzer, but I doubt that. Anyway, when the beginning of shift buzzer went off, instead of one long buzz, it broke up into four short buzzes. I turned around and said, "I don't know if I should go to work or to the shelter!" Meaning the tornado shelter.
You had to be there.
OK, moving right along, a couple of weeks ago, I ordered some new hand brooms to clean out my fireplace with, and after being delayed by ice, they finally arrived late last night. I heard the truck come, but I'd already gone to bed and said to myself, "They'll be there in the morning." And they were.
I figured these would do a better job sweeping up ash than my Swiffer duster thingy. I tried them out as soon as I got home from work this evening, and they worked really well. More importantly, they didn't hold the ash like the Swiffer did, so that's less mess on my floors.

It's the little things...
Not much else to report today, knitting wise. I'm working on another charity hat, and am about to cast on another headband and play with a few patterns. Other than that...
Oh, yeah! New Supervisor came over today and told Group Leader Shark to tell Scrap Man to pick up the brazers' scrap, and if Scrap Witch has anything to say about, to refer her to him. So that's good.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go cast on a headband and watch a documentary on The Battle of Agincourt.
Laters...

I use a paint brush to clean out the ashes in my wood stove. I'm in desperate need of a new one. I've been telling myself that for the last several years.,
