We had a bit of excitement at work today. I was originally going to tell you that I had to send yet another order of headers back because they had the wrong tap fitting in them, but then I saw a bunch of supervisors striding with purpose through the department...and Stalker trailing pathetically along behind them like a puppy trying to keep up with the pack.
He later claimed he had no idea what was going on, but we all know he desperately wants to be in charge of something --anything -- and so nobody believed him.
And what was going on was that they'd caught someone vaping in the bathroom and fired the person. I have no idea who it was, but I expect we'll find out soon enough.
In other news, it would appear we are done with storms for a while, so I took the opportunity to put my house plants back outside for a bit.
They are now nestled into their summer spots on the back porch.
While I was at Walmart, I couldn't resist the siren song of the garden center, and since it appears that my sweet banana pepper plant from last year will not be coming back, I picked up a new one.
I'm not sure I want to put this one back into my raised planter, because the last one ...well, it didn't seem deep enough to keep it from falling over. I had to stake it with an old knitting needle.
See, Boye products are good for something.
I'm debating on whether to put it into a pot, or do something else with it. I'd kind of like to get a few of these plants, because I've discovered that I like sweet banana peppers. They're really good in chicken salad.
By the way, I have no idea what this is.
It's coming up in the corner of my planter, and I don't know whether I should pull it up or not. I may just wait and see what it turns out to be once it gets its true leaves. Then I'll pull it up. Also, I looked for some more sweet basil, but they didn't have any, so I did the next best thing. I got seeds.
I'm going to up-pot my little bluebonnet tomorrow after work, then I'll start these using the sponge things I bought a couple of weeks ago. I've ordered some raised garden beds from Amazon, so I think I might put these into one of them, provided I can get any to survive, that is. I don't have such a good track record with starting seeds.
And finally, they are still re-arranging my Walmart, but I managed to find the yarn aisle, where I picked up this skein to work on some more charity hats.
As you can see, I've already cast one on.
Red Heart yarn can be a bit of a crap shoot, you know. Some of it is great to work with. Some of it is like knitting with barbed wire. Or bob wahr if you're from Texas.
This yarn is the great kind. It's soft and smooth and not splitty at all. It'll make some really nice hats for a sailor somewhere.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got one more day of work this week, so I need to get on to bed.
Good night.
