Yes, folks, the Starry Night hat is finished.
The pattern is Sockhead Hat, and the yarn is from Forbidden Fiber. It was her colorway Horn Section, specially dyed for the 2019 Fiber Fun In The 'Sip .
By the way, the next FFITS will be February 21 & 22 in Vicksburg, MS. You know, just in case you think you might want to come.
Other than that, there really isn't much to talk about. I mostly sat and watched TV, catching up on NCIS: Origins and some of the cheesy Hallmark movies I'd DVRed. Oh, I suppose I could tell you that I've gotten moving on my piano lessons again. I'd kind of gotten stuck for a while. You know those instructional videos I've been watching on YouTube? Yeah, the one for the song I was learning was 22 minutes long.
Twenty two minutes! I put it off for a long time because what on earth could that man be yapping about for 22 minutes? This morning, I bit the bullet and watched the thing. It was as dull and repetitive as I'd feared. About halfway through, I quipped, "I should have brought my knitting." But he finally stopped talking and we played the song, then the duet, and it's all behind me now and I can move on.
And I guess I can mention that I finished reading The Paradise War, by Stephen Lawhead, and have started the second book in the series, The Silver Hand. If you're into Celtic lore and mythology, this would be a good series to read.
The only other thing I did today was to find little mousey turds in my silverware drawer. Naturally, I took everything out and washed it and disinfected the drawer. That was fun. Then I cut and hung some lemon balm and orange mint to dry.
I want to get as much done as I can before the first frost -- which it looks like it won't be happening for a while. Still, the cold front is coming through even as I type this, and it's supposed to cool off some, though not quite down to freezing. Not just yet.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go cast on another hat so I'll have something to knit on during the LSU - Alabama game.
Laters.
