So, I'm just sitting here waiting....I have no idea what time Cody and Brennan are supposed to get here. They never tell me their plans. I still have a few things to make, but I figured we'd do our Christmas Eve snacks later this evening, around 6:00 or 7:00 PM. I'm hoping I can talk Cody into driving us around to look at lights once it gets dark, too.
I so seldom get to be a passenger, I take advantage of it every time I can.
While I'm waiting, I went outside to check on my onions, and much to my dismay, something had gotten into the bed and dug three of them up -- and apparently ate one, because I never did find it. I could just cry.
I replanted the two I did find, then to give myself something to do to alleviate the feeling of waiting, I got the roll of plastic stuff out and put a barrier down in the bed.
I had to shift a few of the onions around to make sure they could grow through the mesh, but other than that, it didn't take up enough time, and I'm still waiting. Since I had the stuff out and was right there and still waiting, I put some down in my sage bed, too.
Now, three of my four beds are protected. The cats -- I'm assuming that's what's getting into my beds -- don't seem to be bothering this one too much.
I'm assuming it's because of the garlic. They don't like the smell of it. We shall see.
I'm going to get some of those landscape staple things to hold it down once Walmart gets their garden supplies back in stock. Then I can move those bricks and put a layer of mulch down.
Since I was already crying, I came inside and did another chemistry lesson. I've got four more lessons to be done with the course, and I'm debating whether to just do them all and get it over with, or spread them out and peel the Band-Aid off slowly. Neither option is all that appealing...
Once I'd taken the quiz enough times to get all the questions right -- it took three tries this time-- I went out front and weeded my bluebonnet bed.
Dirt makes everything better.
Now, I'm sitting here waiting...watching and waiting...
One of my favorite old TV specials, The House Without A Christmas Tree. I never miss it. I think I even have the book around here somewhere.
The only question is, should I go ahead and get something to eat, because with my luck, as soon as I'm done eating, the kids will show up and they'll be hungry...
But if I don't eat, they won't be here for hours.
Maybe I'll just get a light snack, like a sandwich or something.
