Finished!

It's finally finished...well, almost.

I still have to seam the sleeves, weave the ends in, and sew on the buttons, but other than that, it's finished, finally.   And yes, it did take a whole lot longer than five hours!  Now I just have to knit a matching hat up really quickly, and it'll be ready to wash and send.  I think I'll include some money, too, so they can buy diapers -- never have too many diapers -- or whatever they need.

In a little not so good news, we're back to square one with the landscaper.  After heavy storms today and yesterday, my yard is once again a sodden mess.  Even the ruts he left in my back yard have filled up.

We'll have more storms on Tuesday, then a few days of dry weather until we do it all over again next weekend.  Sigh...at this point, it looks like it's going to be July until he can get the job done.  I haven't even been able to mow but once this year, because there's been standing water in my front yard pretty much all spring.

At least we haven't had any tornadoes, though there was a warning issued for the two counties just south of us.  From what I've heard, it was radar indicated, but no actual funnel cloud touched down.  We did have some pretty strong winds and heavy rain, so much so, I brought the plants in from the back porch until it had passed.

But anyway,  if it comes down to it, I guess I can put one of my raised beds together and put it somewhere for the season, then move it next year.  The only thing I'll need it for is the basil, as everything else is settled where it is.

By the way, when I was in Walmart Friday, I picked up a roll of that plastic chicken wire stuff.

I'm going to try to put it down in my raised beds and planters to stop whatever is digging in them.  A little mulch on top, and you'll never know it's there.

And look at this!

I gots me a baby mater!  It won't be long now until I have my first homegrown mater sammich.

And finally, I bought the cat a toy that squawks like a chicken when she bats it around.

I am now regretting that I bought the cat a toy that squawks like a chicken when she bats it around.

And there is no off button.

Anywhere.

Believe me, I've looked.

It is! And the cat loves it.
